Will Penny - one of our sponsored instructors - is a man of many talents. Apart from being great working with students, he's also an amazing flyer and cameraman. Will was the man behind the giant 16 mm camera used to film the music video shown below - check it out. Will is a part of the Babylon Freefly school - you can learn more about him on their staff page :)
The PD Blog isn't ashamed to admit having watched that about 15 times a day for the past few days - we hope you enjoy it too!
The artist is El Guisante Mágico, the song titled Beautiful.
Many of you have written in to ask who the skydiver is - his name is Aldos Como and he is also the lead singer! Check out their MySpace page here.
Many of you probably know Eric Deren, one of our sponsored athletes. Eric is a well respected freeflyer and was instrumental in bringing the discipline of Vertical Relative Work (VRW) to life. Last fall Eric served as the meet director at the very successful 2008 USPA Nationals.
Eric's "normal" job as the owner of Dzignlight Studios has to do with visual and 3D animation, which is what brings us to the topic of this post.
He has been playing with the topic of stereoscopic cinematography and one of his films was recently featured at the Stereoscopic Displays and Applications Film Festival in San Jose, California.
The film was awarded "best in show" which brings with it tremendous recognition of Eric's work and talents. You can check the movie out on Eric's website - just put on your handy dandy red/cyan glasses (come on, we know you all have a pair somewhere) and check it out!
This project shows is an excellent way to showcase skydiving and brings a very positive attention to our sport - thanks Eric!!
This gorgeous video was shot by Nils K. Predstrup (Denmark) and shows JC and Jonathan Tagle of the PD Factory team flying the Spire in Chamonix, France - over the treetops and into the valley.
