8way training in Perris Valley

Img_0030_2Img_0028_3 Just a little advice from Jesper, the European PD tour rep........

If somebody calls you and ask if you would like to do a 2 weeks training camp in California with world class coaching from Dan BC and do a 130 8way jumps (with packer)......just say yes.

That happened to me a few months ago, so I spend the 2 months on learning the 8way divepool and I did a bunch of physical training to prepare my body for this adventure. I also did some tunnel training and guess what.... I met Daniel Graig (also known as 007) in Bedford.....oh well thats another story.

So Here I am in Perris Valley, California. We are just over half way in the training and we have done 79 jumps in 7 days. Peter, our tail on the team broke his leg on the first day, so DZ owner Melanie did great as a stand in for 2 days until Peter could jumps with a broken leg with alot of tape on.....
Dan BC is providing fantastic coaching, the team is on a good steep learning curve and we all feel good about the jumps.

The goal is to compete in and win the Danish Nationals in 8way 2008 and I think we have a very good change among the 4 8way teams who will compete this year.

The team just enjoyed 2 days off. The weekend got off to a good start after a great steak meal at Melanis house. Huge and really yummi steaks.
The weekend was spent shopping since everything here is cheap compared to Denmark, we also ended in a good restaurents with alot of very very good drinks

The rest of the story will follow soon.........

P.S. If somebody spot this middle age bandit on the picture to the right, please report to IRS, rumors say he is a gang member from Chicago and he takes lollipops from children....

UK Skills Camp

Imgp1594_2HEAT recently ran a skills camp at Netheravon in the UK. The course was run over a weekend and had a range of abilities with participants having between 40 and 1800 jumps. The group was split in half and each had 2 coaches to provide in-depth tuition and debriefing. Despite it being a cold weekend in February the weather had been booked and the skies stayed blue throughout. It was great to see the progression from everyone and this laid down a good foundation for the start of the season.

One of our favorite photos Melanie Curtis, from Skydive Elsinore.  Look at the speed and determination, as she goes for the price during a sunset Hit 'n Chug at Chicks Rock 2007.

We love ya Mel - thanks for being a part of the team!
